 Police In Helicopter Singer has diead

KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Veteran Jamaican reggae singer John Holt died in a London hospital on Sunday. He was 67.

Holt was born in Kingston in 1947 

Copeland Forbes, Holt’s manager since 2006, confirmed the entertainer’s passing.

“John died at 2:40 am English time. His [John’s] nephew informed Official News of his death,”

The cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

John Holt collapsed on stage during a set at the One Love Festival in Springfield on August 16.

Though it is not known what caused the Jamaican singer to collapse, there are fears he returned to the stage too soon after an operation in july of this year

Famous for Hits such as Up Park Camp, Love  i can Feel, Police in helicopter and many more

Holt first gained popularity in the 1960s as the lead singer of the Paragons and they cut a succession of singles for Duke Reid at his Treasure Isle Studio and enjoyed a string of hits, including "Ali Baba", "Tonight", "I See Your Face", and the Holt penned "The Tide Is High" (later made famous by Blondie and also covered by Atomic Kitten).
